Tagum Cooperative (TC) employees engaged in a comprehensive training workshop titled “Frame by Frame: Harnessing the Power of Photojournalism and Mobile Photography for Impactful Communication”  on May 18, 2024, at the TC Function Hall.

The main aim of the training workshop is to acquire formal skills and knowledge about photojournalism and mobile photography, particularly fundamental knowledge of camera settings, exposure, composition, lighting techniques, proper object framing, visual storytelling, and post-processing strategies.

The training workshop has been realized to produce proper documentation for both internal and external events as Tagum Cooperative improves branding identity and reputation over time. Tagum Cooperative recognizes the vital role of social media channels in bannering its tagline “where people invest their trust”. Moreover, this allows proper information dissemination and sees such channels as an expository of information.

A notable highlight of the workshop was the interactive lecture of the resource person from the City Information Office of Tagum,  a seasoned Audio-Visual Operator and Information Officer, and Curator, Photographer, Mr. Leunielon A. Timogan, led the dynamics of photojournalism and encompassed mobile photography. He expounded practical techniques and principles of photography and how visual storytelling impacts the delivery of information.

After that, participants were engrossed in the actual workshop and tasked with capturing subjects within the Tagum Cooperative vicinity depending on their creativity and concept. Excitement could be felt from the participants as they brainstormed ideas with their respective groups. Each group captured the whole Tagum Cooperative with visually compelling photos.

Among the highlights of the workshop was the grand finale, which featured an exciting awarding ceremony. In triumph, Mr. Daryl Jay Dumandan bagged the One Shot Photo Award, while Mr. Kenneth M. Tayogandaga took home the Best Photo Award.

The training workshop concluded on a high note, with participants eagerly sharing their delight and excitement over the new skills they had mastered. The room buzzed with achievement and camaraderie while exchanging stories of their breakthroughs and moments of inspiration in the workshop. The event ended with heartfelt expressions of gratitude and joy, motivating participants to apply their learning in their respective functions. Kenneth M. Tayogandaga
