Tagum Cooperative carried out relief operations on April 28, 2023 in the municipality of Maragusan as a form of assistance to the residents affected by the recent earthquake last February 6, 2023 and March 06-07, 2023. The disaster left many families displaced and in dire need of assistance.
Maragusan, situated in the province of Davao de Oro, experienced two powerful tremors measuring 6.9 magnitude and 4.3-5.9 magnitudes, respectively, resulting in widespread devastation. In response to this crisis, Tagum Cooperative, under the leadership of Branch Manager Midred Resa and Communications, Education, and Community Development Manager Al Gee Omega C. Bula, collaborated with the Municipal Social Welfare Development Office of Maragusan (MSWDO) to swiftly mobilize resources for the affected residents.
A total of 305 relief items were successfully distributed to identified barangays, including Katipunan, Paloc, and Tandik, thanks to the concerted efforts of Tagum Cooperative and the support of MSWDO. The relief items provided much-needed assistance to those impacted by the earthquakes, offering temporary relief and helping them cope with the aftermath.
Indeed, the support of Tagum Cooperative made a significant difference in the lives of the affected residents.
