Tagum Cooperative places a high premium on equipping its members with essential knowledge in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM). Under the leadership of the Vice Chairperson of the Board, Director Hermarie T. Esmael, MAEd, the Education Committee conducted a comprehensive training program on Resilience in Emerging Disasters (R.E.D.).
This significant initiative saw active participation from over 1,000 Tagum Cooperative members, spanning three separate training sessions held on July 26, July 31, and August 3, 2023. The training sessions were facilitated through an online platform, ensuring accessibility and convenience for all participants.
Facilitated in collaboration with the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Office of the Local Government Unit of Tagum, the training sessions were enriched by the presence of Officer Mr. Shieldon P. Isidoro, RN, MPA, who served as the resource speaker. Mr. Isidoro’s extensive knowledge and experience in disaster resilience added invaluable depth to the training, contributing significantly to its success. His insights and expertise were instrumental in equipping Tagum Cooperative members with the skills and awareness needed to do so during disasters.
The cooperative’s dedication to improving its members’ grasp of DRRM and nurturing resilience in the face of emerging disasters is truly commendable. Looking ahead, Tagum Cooperative remains committed to its mission of raising awareness about DRRM in the coming years.Under the capable leadership of the Education Committee, Tagum Cooperative will persist in empowering its members with the essential tools and knowledge needed to navigate challenging times and actively contribute to building a more resilient community.
