The Tagum Cooperative officials formally took the oath of office for the newly elected officers for the calendar year 2024 – 2025 at the TC Function Hall on April 02, 2024.
This event plays a critical role in identifying the new Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Board. The same procedure applies to the heads of the committees, who are elected as well. A secret ballot among the elected officers will determine the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, with adequate time devoted to the process.
After the secret ballot is successfully executed, members of the election committee will collect and tabulate the results and then reveal the elected Chairperson and Vice Chairperson for the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and Election Committee.
The entire Tagum Cooperative was buzzing with excitement and nervous anticipation, especially among the officers. A moment of silence grew as the election results were about to be revealed.
The 2023 Vice Chairperson of the Election Committee, Ms. Flordeliza Alegarbes, facilitated this year’s presentation and proclamation of election results together with the assistance of the Secretary, Mr. Darwin F. Suyat.
The results for the Board of Directors were announced first. Dir. Rosamaria S. Torrejano was elected as the Chairperson with five votes, narrowly defeating Dir. Eduard C. Amogius, who received four votes. For the Vice Chairperson position, Dir. Gertrudes L. Yap topped with five votes, edging out Dir. Jose Alvic P. Suaybaguio, who also received four votes.
As the election results drew close, the board of directors was the firstly to announce. Dir. Rosamaria S. Torrejano bagged as the Chairperson with five (5) votes, narrowly defeating Dir. Eduard C. Amogius, who received four (4) votes. For the Vice Chairperson position, Dir. Gertrudes L. Yap topped with five (5) votes, edging out Dir. Jose Alvic P. Suaybaguio, who also received four (4) votes.
Next, the election committee results were declared. Ms. Flordeliza L. Alegarbes secured the Chairpersonship, and Mr. Darwin F. Suyat was elected as the Vice Chairperson. Ms. Romela T. Pangandoyon was held as the committee’s Secretary.
Following these announcements, Legal Counsel Atty. Marilda J. Boja oversaw the induction and oath-taking ceremony. This was followed by the symbolic turnover of key responsibilities and the giving of the gavel from the outgoing Chairperson Dir. Nenita R. Malbas to the incoming Chairperson Dir. Rosamaria S. Torrejano.

Despite scheduling challenges, the new Audit Committee members were officially inducted on April 05, 2024. Mr. Mark Louie D. Mahinay took the helm as chairperson, bringing his expertise and vision to the team. Alongside him, Ms. Phoebe Laine D. Chinilla stepped in as vice chairperson, while Ms. Nerlyn B.
