Tagum Cooperative’s Build-A-Classroom Project continues to provide essential support to schools by constructing additional classrooms to address the growing needs of student populations and improve overall learning environments.

The cooperative launched a new phase of the project as part of its ongoing commitment to community development through a groundbreaking ceremonies on November 18, 2024, at Federico J. Alferez Elementary School in Barangay Goma, Digos City, and Fatima Integrated School in Barangay Mandug, Davao City.

Prominent figures from the cooperative’s leadership attended the events, including Board of Directors members and the Community Development Committee chaired by Dir. Nenita R. Malbas. CEO Juris D. Perez, representatives from the Department of Education, school administrators, PTA officials, and faculty members were also present to witness the milestone occasion.

The ceremonies opened with welcome remarks from the school principals, followed by an overview of the project’s goals presented by the Community Development Committee. CEO Juris D. Perez delivered a heartfelt message of the cooperative’s dedication for growth and development in education, while DepEd Schools Division Superintendents expressed the project’s impact on improving access to quality learning facilities.

One of the event’s memorable scenarios was the formal signing of the Memorandum of Agreement and Deed of Acceptance, symbolizing the beginning of a wonderful partnership between Tagum Cooperative and the beneficiary schools. This was followed by the ceremonial groundbreaking to officially start the construction and inspiring testimonials from community representatives.

When completed, the newly built classroom buildings will serve as the new home of the students to provide much-needed additional space for future generations and help students with better opportunities to thrive academically. Britney Ann B. Manayon
