In response to the devastating landslide in Masara, Maco, Davao de Oro, Tagum Cooperative took swift action by initiating relief operations on February 13, 2024, and February 15, 2024. Over two days of operations, hundreds of survivors were provided with essential supplies and support.

The relief efforts were organized, with evacuation centers set up at various locations, including Bawani Elementary School, Lorenzo S. Sarmiento Sr. National High School, Nueva Visayas Gym, Nueva Visayas Elementary School, Nuevo Iloco Elementary School, Nuevo Iloco National High Supply on day one, and Andili National High School and Mawab Elementary School Sped Center on day two.

Each relief package included vital items such as kilos of rice, assorted canned goods, dental hygiene products, blankets, detergents, body soaps, as well as pails, dippers, and treats for children. In total, 1,120 survivors benefited from the relief operations, amounting to a total expense of ₱324,934.43, funded from allocations for calamity scenarios.

The dedication of Tagum Cooperative’s board of directors, including Dir. Monica L. Salido, Dir. Jose Alvic P. Suaybaguio, Dir. Noel O. Quidilla, and Dir. Janet T. Matuguinas, alongside the constant support from the Community and Development Department, led by Officer-In-Charge Angenel Clariz D. Rufon, ensured the success of the said vital relief operations.

More than a thousand families were grateful for the relief operations, and it was evident to see wearing their smiles still seeing the positive side despite the tragic effect of the landslide. Indeed, Tagum Cooperative is an ultimate partner for generosity in times of crisis.
