Tagum Cooperative (TC), a recognized leader in social and financial services, continues to uphold its commitment to the 7th Cooperative Principle, “Concern for Community,” by spearheading impactful initiatives through its Himsug Pamilya Program (HPP). In the third and fourth quarters of 2024, TC is set to roll out a series of medical sponsorships to promote health and wellness in underserved communities.

This initiative emphasizes the dedication of the cooperative to holistic development in addressing the healthcare needs of individuals in remote barangays where TC branches and satellite offices are located through the provision of essential vitamins, medicines, and health kits that seek to bridge healthcare gaps and provide better health outcomes for communities often overlooked.

One of the program’s primary objectives is to ensure access to preventive healthcare services such as health screenings and lifestyle education. These efforts aim to mitigate chronic health conditions and empower individuals with the knowledge and resources to lead healthier lives. Additionally, the sponsorship enforces raising awareness about the Himsug Pamilya Program’s mission and impact.

The program accommodated thirty (30) branches and satellite offices across Mindanao, with activities scheduled monthly from September to November 2024.

A team comprising branch managers, MBA supervisors, coop nurse, and marketing officers spearheaded the activities, ensuring effective execution and maximum reach. Both TC members and non-members were invited to participate, furthering the cooperative’s mission of inclusivity and community engagement.

Funded through an approved Cooperative Development Fund (CDF) budget, the program allocated ₱Php 10,000 per branch, amounting to a total investment of ₱Php 300,000.

Through this initiative, Tagum Cooperative once again demonstrated its unending commitment to making a positive impact through championing health and wellness. Indeed, TC promotes healthier communities and strengthens the bond of cooperation and care that defines its ultimate mission. Kenn M. Tayogandaga
