Bronze in 2014 and successive silvers in 2015 and 2016, Tagum Coop’s A-One Competitive Choice in Service and Soundness (ACCESS) brand journey is truly remarkable. Being a Top Cooperative in the Philippines in terms of financial standing and good governance practices, TC takes a leap to a higher pedestal as the Officials and Management pursue their fourth ACCESS validation.

Validators from the Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU) thru the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO) were led by Ms. Daisybelle M. Cabal together with Ms. Russelle Ballaran, Mr. Alfred Gomez and Ms. Evangeline Quiazon. The stringent re-accreditation process was held on July 16 – 18, 2018 focused on the Financial, Learning & Growth, Member-Customer and Internal Business Process Perspectives.

Ms. Cabal and her team reviewed policies, verified financial highlights, generated reports, visited different branches, checked records, randomly interviewed members and consulted the Officials and Management on the observations and possible improvements.

Ms. Juris D. Perez, Chief Executive Officer, stated that Tagum Cooperative has prepared for the fourth renewal and

the Board of Directors has been aiming for the “Gold” accreditation considering the 5.01% delinquency rate in December 2017. In response, Ms. Cabal cited that the validators have also hoped for Tagum Coop to go for gold in the coming years. This can be achieved if the Management can identify who are the delinquency contributors and be able to reach out to them.

Based on initial assessment, pending the confirmation from ACCU, the validators announced during the July 18 Exit Conference participated by the Board of Directors, Committee Officers and Management Representatives, that Tagum Cooperative is a candidate for ACCESS Silver brand renewal.

The formal bestowment of this prestigious award will be staged during the 2018 ACCU Forum to be held on September 13 – 15 at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galeria, Ortigas City. This gathering will be attended by Coop Leaders from the different countries in the entire Asia.

No Philippine cooperative has ever achieved the Gold Accreditation and Tagum Cooperative is surely one of the front runners in breaking this record.
