The Island Garden City of Samal is not only one of the top tourist destinations in the country but has now become the home for the multi-billionaire and multi-awarded Tagum Cooperative. Opening on September 18, 2020, Tagum Cooperative Samal Satellite Office is located at Triple A Building, Babak, IGACOS, Davao del Norte.


The momentous festivities commenced with a joyous motorcade travelling around the major thoroughfares of the city followed by the blessing and inauguration duly celebrated by Rev. Fr. Ricky Penalosa.


During the program, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Juris D. Perez acknowledged the distinguished guests who are physically and virtually present during the event including – Hon. Al David T. Uy represented by Executive Assistant II – Guillermo Olden; Board Member Dindo C. Parangan; Mr. Winnie E. Batoon, CESO VI Schools Division Superintendent of IGACOS; Hon. Metodio D. Gonato and Hon. Aldrin Humawas from the Committee of Cooperatives. Also present are the honorable representatives from sister cooperatives and partner banks.


Chairperson Rosalina S. Argent welcomed the guests stating that it is the dream’s fulfillment to have a business center in IGACOS as it is an answered prayer for the members of Bajada Branch who can now conveniently transact within the city. She emphasized that despite the global pandemic, Tagum Cooperative continues to increase its Assets and Membership. “We are hopeful that Tagum Cooperative will grow as the Island Garden City of Samal grows,” she added.


Executive Assistant Olden shared that he is happy to know that some Samalenos are already members of Tagum Cooperative, the number 1 coop in Davao Region. He further articulated his delight that Samal is indeed progressing as evidenced by the presence of different financial institutions. He then narrated the story of love, marriage, lust and life highlighting that Tagum Cooperative and IGACOS are now partners and shall never part.


Leading the Samal Satellite Office is Daniel Bantillan who expressed his gratefulness to the TC Board of Directors and Management for giving them a chance to serve the beloved citizens of Samal. He assured that TC employees are dedicated to serve the Samalenos with love and passion.


Tagum Cooperative aims to establish 35 Business Centers by year 2025, including the Satellite Offices in Tandag and Gingoog which is set to open by end of 2020.
