Tagum Cooperative went to the coastal area of Purok Cabugan, Barangay Busaon and MD Jordan, Liboganon, Tagum City to give free Lomi (noodle soup) and bread to the residents as its annual outreach activity kicked off on July 7 and 20 respectively.
Bringing big pots and paper bags, the team led by the Board of Directors travelled for almost an hour from downtown Tagum City to bring nutritious meals for the locales especially the children.
In Busaon outreach, Directors Fe Adlawan and Miriam Baloyo conducted presentations and lectures regarding Tagum Cooperative products and services and about Family Budgeting and Financial Counselling respectively.
Adlawan first informed the beneficiaries of this year’s outreach about the Cooperative, its history, vision and mission, products and services, and the programs it pours out to its members and the community.
Baloyo then made a lecture for the parents on Family Budgeting and Financial Counselling where she discussed three tips on how to manage money which include: Budgeting, saving, and managing debt.
In Liboganon outreach meanwhile, Director Eduard Amoguis welcomed the beneficiaries while Directors Edgardo Silagan and Nenita Malbas lectured on TC History and on Family Budgeting and Financial Counselling respectively.
Hours after the lectures, the staff distributed five big pots of Lomi and about 20 large bags of bread to the residents who mostly depend on fishing and coconut farming as their sources of income.
An 89 year old Diosdado Kapampangan, in an interview during the Busoan outreach, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for bringing the Cooperative help in their place where he stayed for 42 years.
“Nalipay me ug maayo ug blessed kaayo me sa Ginoo kay gihikap niya ang kasing-kasing sa Tagum Coop aron tabangan me nga mga kabus diri (We feel so happy and blessed by God for He touched Tagum Coop to help us, needy in here)” he said.
Tatay Diosdado was just one of the patient people who lined up to benefit from Tagum Coop’s outreach activity which, according to the elder, was the first time to happen in their place.
The giving of free Lomi and bread in the area will continue every first Wednesday of the Month until December where a Christmas Party for the beneficiaries will be held by Tagum Coop.
The Outreach Activity is an annual program of Tagum Cooperative intended to give free lectures and nutritious meals to selected rural and remote areas where help is less felt. (Tagum Cooperative).
