Tagum Cooperative Board of Director Chairperson Rosalina S. Argent talks about Financial Resiliency during Asia’s Sister Society Virtual Launch held on August 14, 2020 through Zoom video conference.
Sister Society Virtual Launch attended by nearly a hundred coop leaders, was hosted by the Global Women’s Leadership Network (GWLN) of Asian Confederation of Credit Union (ACCU) based in Thailand. The event was facilitated by ACCU’s Chief Executive Officer Ms. Elenita San Roque.
Chairperson Argent shared her ideas about Financial Resiliency, including effective tips and approaches on how an individual can bounce back in every life uncertainty, as well as the importance of budgeting, living a simple lifestyle and building Emergency funds.
Other speakers in the virtual event include Ms. Lena Giakoumopoulos, the GWLN Program Director from the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU); Ms. Sarita Battarai, Director of National Cooperative Bank of Nepal; and Ms. Josefina Cardona, Chief Executive Officer of Most Holy Rosary Multi-purpose Cooperative and a GWLN Scholar. Also present during the event are the Tagum Cooperative Board of Directors and the Key Management Officers.
Tagum Cooperative organized its very own Sister Society Chapter on May 22, 2015. With the spirit of volunteerism, members of the Sister Society participate in every community development programs, promote Gender Equality and other programs for coop members’ socio-economic welfare.
The Sister Societies are established on a local level around the world to further the GWLN’s global mission by making a local impact. The purpose is to assemble the coop leaders, discuss coop issues, exchange ideas, network with neighboring coop leaders and provide education to share lessons learned with the GWLN members worldwide.
