The Sister Society of Tagum Cooperative is notable for wearing their pink scarf and usually seen during relief efforts and community outreach programs gathered virtually for the first time in 2021.
Immediate past TC Chairperson Rosalina S. Argent presided over the General Membership Meeting of the Sisters Society last May 27, 2021 to discuss three important agendas: 1. Review of the Rationale and Objectives; 2. Election of the New Set of Officers (CY 2021-2022) and Oath Taking; 3. Presentation of the Green Coop Program activities.
Dir. Argent recalled that the Sister Society of Tagum Cooperative was organized in 2015 with not more than a hundred embers who have been dedicated to be the arm to extend help to the society through the Community Development Program. “During the flooding in Carmen, Davao del Norte in 2019, we were there wearing our pink scarf while distributing the food for the victims. Also during the Gasa Alang sa Skwela in partnership with DepEd, we went to far-flung areas to donate bags with school supplies to our IP Learners. The Sister Society was there as well during our tree planting activity in La Fortuna,” recalls Dir. Argent.
Sister Society also discussed about being part of the Green Coop as Green Warriors which means taking part in simple and sincere ways to reduce the environmental/ecological footprint, aimed to conserve/harness our dwindling natural resources and protect Mother Earth such as encouraging bike-to-work or limiting the use of too much papers in the office and adopt the reduce reuse recycle when it comes to extra scrap papers.
TC Chairperson Noel O. Quidilla led the nomination of the upcoming Sisters Society appointed officers for CY 2021-2022 and encouraged members as well as the appointed officers to continuously support the endeavors of the Sisters Society particularly in improving the lives of the community and the current environmental initiatives of TC’s Community Development Program. “Let us continue to be the Green Warriors of Tagum Cooperative whether you are an officer or a member, you are called to don your pink scarf and participate in creating a better environment.” Dir. Quidilla says.
