The 6th TC Annual Representative Assembly convened on March 24, 2024, celebrated a remarkable achievement for Tagum Cooperative and its members. This groundbreaking event, which creatively merged physical and virtual attendance, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of TC District Representatives.
The Representative Assembly, which holds equal authority with the General Assembly, plays a pivotal role as the Cooperative’s primary decision-making body. It is imperative that the decisions and updates from this Assembly are effectively disseminated to all TC Districts/Branches and Satellite Offices through Special District Meetings (SDMs). These meetings ensure members have access to crucial updates on the Cooperative’s direction, initiatives, and Assembly events.
Sessions for the SDMs were meticulously organized by the Education Committee of Tagum Cooperative, under the guidance of the Communications and Education Department (CED). This structure facilitates transparent communication and ensures members remain informed about decisions impacting the Cooperative.
This year’s Special District Meetings, held via Zoom conferencing from April 24, 2024, to July 5, 2024, were a platform for reflection, celebration of achievements, and setting sights on future endeavors. Each of the 20 sessions was presided over by Lead District Representatives from the 16 districts of Tagum Cooperative.
The agenda included presentations on TC Operational Highlights and ARA Updates by the Board of Directors and the management team, respectively. Open forums provided opportunities for questions and discussions. Notably, the 2023 Operational Highlights showcased remarkable achievements, including community expansion to 169,391 valued members and 69,857 aspiring youth members.
Tagum Cooperative remains dedicated to transparency, evident in its efforts to provide members with comprehensive information about products, services, and financial decisions. The Cooperative also takes pride in meeting member-customers’ needs with quality insurance services. Additionally, Tagum Cooperative achieved a net surplus of 1.3 billion and expanded its community to 169,391 devoted members, all while adhering to sustainable development goals and the triple bottom line approach (profit, people, and planet).
The Special District Meetings serve as proof of Tagum Cooperative’s commitment to transparency, engagement, and sustainable development. Through ongoing education efforts and collaborative partnerships, the Cooperative continues to make a positive impact on society and the environment, while ensuring the well-being of its members and communities.
