Tagum Cooperative in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Tagum City, administered a joint initiative called “Project Caring for Others: Programang Pang-Edukasyon,” at the Tagum Cooperative Gymnasium on July 17, 2023 with the aim to support local senior high school students with resources needed to supplement their education. 

The initiative is said to promote educational development among senior high schools in Tagum City and contribute to the nation-building projects, activities, and programs set forth in the nation. 

Among those who received the generous support were La Filipina National High School, Jose Tuazon Jr. Memorial National High School, Pipisan Maug National High School, Pandapan National High School, and Liboganon Integrated School. 

The event commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by the Chairperson of the Local Government Unit – Tagum Education Committee Hon. Rex Jasper R. Aala. He expressed his gratitude to Tagum Cooperative for the support in advancing education within the city. He highlighted the significance of collaborative efforts in creating meaningful change and a conducive learning environment for students.

Following the welcome address, the Chairperson of the Board Dir. Nenita R. Malbas took the stage to deliver a heartfelt message on behalf of Tagum Cooperative. Dir. Malbas emphasized the cooperative’s commitment to social responsibility and the belief in the power of education as a way of social progress. 

The program culminated with the closing remarks delivered by the Board of Director member,  Dir. Noel O. Quidilla, expressing his admiration for the collaborative efforts set forth by the Local Government Unit of Tagum and Tagum Cooperative. He pointed out the positive impact of Project Care on the students of Tagum City, emphasizing education as a vehicle in a progressive Tagum City. 

The “Project Care” is primarily designed to focus on strengthening the city’s educational institutions, which have long served as pillars of learning, and address specific needs and challenges of schools. With the Local Government Unit of Tagum City and the Tagum Cooperative working hand in hand, Project Care is set to provide the necessary resources and support to enhance the learning outcomes of every student who aspires to be a professional in the future.  Kenneth M.
