In a bid to cultivate the foundational principles and values of cooperative living, Tagum Cooperative has initiated a comprehensive learning program for its new members. With a focus on the fundamentals of cooperatives with Gender and Development (GAD) Family Enrichment Program, this endeavor aims to empower members with essential knowledge while promoting a sense of community and solidarity.

Under the support of the TC Lecturers Group, seasoned speakers deliver insightful presentations on various aspects pertinent to cooperative life. From tracing the origins of the cooperative movement to core cooperative values and principles, new TC members are provided with a holistic understanding of the cooperative spirit. Moreover, sessions on inspirational anecdotes and practical tips on family enrichment and financial management deeply resonate with participants, drawing from real-life experiences.

The initiative is part of TC’s ongoing commitment to the continuous education and development of its members. Spearheaded by the Education Committee, chaired by Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Dir. Hermarie Torreon-Esamel and supported by committee members Dir. Monica L. Salido, and Dr. Michelle B. Claridad, the program seeks to empower members with the necessary tools and knowledge to engage in cooperative activities actively.

Scheduled on the last Tuesday of every month, the learning sessions provide an invaluable opportunity for new members to immerse themselves in the cooperative. In embracing cooperative principles and values, Tagum Cooperative continues to move forward for a more empowered community where members are not only beneficiaries but active participants in the cooperative movement’s journey towards progress and sustainability.
