Tagum Cooperative has long been a pillar of community development, and in its steadfast commitment to enhancing both the social and economic well-being of the community, the cooperative recently launched a powerful webinar series titled Financial Planning for Startups: Building a Strong Foundation for Business Success through its Business Development & Business Opportunities Program, a golden education space provided and facilitated by the Communications and Education Department via Zoom Conference.

The initiative, a series aimed to empower startup founders and aspiring entrepreneurs by providing them with the essential knowledge and tools needed for sound financial management—a critical aspect of launching and sustaining a successful business kicked off on December 12, 2024. Further, this opportunity was designed to offer valuable insights and practical guidance on financial planning for new businesses, helping them in going beyond the budgeting aspect of their business or aspired field commerce. The first session was participated by the Main Branch, with additional participation from branches across the region, including Nabunturan, Butuan, General Santos, Gingoog, Malita, Digos, Bajada, Dipolog, Carmen, Surigao, Ozamis, and Cagayan de Oro. The following day, December 13, clutched a broader outreach, with attendees from branches in Mati, Koronadal, Bayugan, Ozamis, Sto. Tomas, Samal, San Francisco, Tandag, Dipolog, and Ipil. On December 18, the program reached even more communities, including Bajada, Mintal, Panabo, Butuan, Matina, Kidapawan, Valencia, Bislig, Malaybalay, Market Branch, Pagadian, Iligan, and Youth Members.

Tagum Cooperative’s Gender and Development/Gender Equality Committee acknowledges the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)’s strong promotion of income opportunities; in the program’s commencement, they played a key role in ensuring the success and implementation of the succeeding webinar series. Mr. Jordzy S. Grafia, an esteemed guest speaker from DTI’s pool of resource spoke on the fundamentals of financial planning, discussing further on the ideals of comprehensively looking at one’s financial situation and how to build a framework to achieve a desired goal .
