The Himsug Pamilya Program (HPP) of Tagum Cooperative continuously promotes health advocacies through a series of Mass Blood Donation Program. HPP brings forth their 3rd blood donation to Gredu Gymnasium, Gredu, Panabo City, Davao del Norte on August 31, 2018 (Friday). This blood-letting activity is in partnership with the Panabo City Blood Collecting Team of the City Health Office and the Local Government Unit of Panabo City.
Some 30 volunteers willingly gave their blood with the aim to provide for to those who are in need. The donors were then provided with nutritious food to gain back their strength after the successful blood extraction. They also received a token and a certificate to recognize their efforts.
Beforehand, Ms. Maria Mildred E. Suello, CHO Blood Coordinator, briefed the volunteers on the blood donation process. She also expressed their team’s gratitude to Tagum Cooperative for spearheading the event. “This program is relevant since the donated blood will be added to the blood pool in the city to provide for
those in need within the city and nearby areas.” Suello stated. She was also hopeful for the activity to be sustained since TC is already becoming a private partner of the City Health Office. Dir. Noel O. Quidilla also gave his message to the volunteers expressing that the Mass Blood Donation is very helpful since operations are expensive, especially in cases like leukemia, dengue and some accidents when patients need blood. He then thanked the volunteers and partners of Tagum Coop who partake in this annual advocacy. “We do hope you will continue to support Tagum Cooperative with its specialized products and services for both members and the community.” Dir. Quidilla said.
The first mass blood donation for 2018 was conducted in February at Nabunturan Branch and at the second schedule in May at Tagum Coop Main Office.
