The 5th day of October marked the 4th Mass Blood Donation Program of Tagum Cooperative (TC) wherein 75 willing volunteers gave their blood for those who are in dire need. The program was spearheaded by TC’s Himsug Pamilya Program (HPP) in partnership with the Tagum City Blood Collecting Team of the City Health Office and the Local Government Unit of Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
TC Chairperson Dir. Rosalina S. Argent during her message encouraged the blood donors to continuously cooperate and donate blood for those in need. “This is our social responsibility, we do not need to solely focus on our income but also, on how, as a cooperative, we are able to extend help to those in need. In this case, through our Mass Blood Donation activities,” Dir. Argent, expresses. Tagum City Councilor Macario A. Bermudez II also graced the half-day event.
One of the “galloners”, Mr. Aries D. Cruz, 35, who have donated his blood for a total of 19 times, speaks about how donating blood for health reasons, “I have been donating blood for the reason that I want a healthier blood supply in my body. This has also become one of my commitments, to continuously donate blood as long as I am capable,” Mr. Cruz affirms.
