Tagum Cooperative’s Education Committee launches its first-ever webinar or e-learning for the members with topic on Financial Literacy for Young Professionals ages 21 to 30 years. This is in response to the need to educate the members on wise money management especially during the global pandemic.


Financial literacy learning session aims that participants will be able to set their financial goals and help them achieve it by finding ways to earn income and using practical means to save money. Participants are also taught on how to manage their debt and the importance of placing investments.


The training was originally scheduled for 2 batches but the overwhelming positive response from the participants and requests from members to join has convinced Tagum Cooperative to provide for more training schedules.


Resource Persons for the trainings are BOD Member Eduard C. Amoguis, Ed.D.; Ms. Ria Diosa A. Caliao, Branch Manager for Carmen and Sto. Tomas; Past Chairperson Norma R. Pereyras; and Atty. Ma. Lina F. Baura. All speakers are members of the Tagum Cooperative’s Lecturers Group who have volunteered to share their knowledge and expertise to their cooperators.


Continuing education is crucial in sustaining and expanding business operations and surpassing strategic goals. Cooperatives are mandated to annually allocate for the education of its members, officers and employees through the Continuing Education and Training Fund (CETF). This is also in accordance with the 5 th Cooperative Principle: Education, Training and
Information which aims to keep the member-owners updated on business operations and significant developments in the community.
