In its unwavering commitment to cultivating well-grounded, effective, and proficient leaders, Tagum Cooperative, through the Education Committee, spearheaded a dynamic series of initiatives to foster continuous professional growth and strengthen camaraderie among its officers.

Building on the successful Workshop on Designing Officers’ Evaluation conducted in March 2023, Tagum Cooperative took another progressive step with the Designing TC Officers’ Evaluation Metrics session held on November 16, 2024. This pivotal event, conducted at the TC Function Hall, Main Office in Tagum City, aimed to establish robust evaluation tools for assessing the performance of its officers.

Guided by Ms. Sharon Marie S. Dy, Head of the Stabilization Fund System Group of NATCCO, and accompanied by Ms. Roxanne S. Dumaraos, Account Manager for NATCCO’s Consultancy Unit, the session was graced by the participation of the TC Board of Directors and Committee Officers. The facilitators, experts in cooperative management and evaluation, led the participants through interactive discussions and activities.

During the session, officers developed a Group Scorecard that defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with the cooperative’s ongoing Strategic Plan and identified behavioral performance drivers. This meticulously crafted Evaluation Metrics will replace the existing evaluation tools, marking a significant milestone in Tagum Cooperative’s journey toward fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and performance excellence among its leaders.

To further nurture a culture of unity and collaboration, Tagum Cooperative organized a two-day Teambuilding Activity at Magnaga Waters Beach Resort, Pantukan, Davao De Oro, on November 23-24, 2024. The TC Officers were joined by the Senior Management team, creating a perfect opportunity for leaders to unwind, reconnect, and realign their focus on cooperative goals.

The highlight of the event was a learning session titled “Leading from the Heart: Cultivating a Higher Path of Leadership”, delivered by Mr. Perfecto C. Cagaanan Jr., a respected public speaker and leadership mentor in Tagum City. Mr. Cagaanan’s insightful talk delved into transformative leadership approaches that inspire leaders to connect with their teams on a deeper level while driving positive change.

Fun and engaging activities followed, aimed at promoting camaraderie and teamwork. The event culminated in an early morning session aptly called “Dawn Reflections,” led by Ms. Al Gee Omega C. Bula, Communications and Education Department Manager. This reflective activity encouraged participants to share personal insights,  reaffirm their commitment to Tagum Cooperative’s mission, and embrace their roles as stewards of meaningful change not just within the cooperative but also in their broader personal and professional lives.

These back-to-back initiatives underscore Tagum Cooperative’s dedication to developing its officers into leaders who are not only proficient in their roles but also deeply connected to the cooperative’s values and vision. By investing in leadership development and fostering a spirit of unity, Tagum Cooperative strengthens its foundation for sustained success, ensuring that its leaders are equipped to navigate challenges and inspire progress for the benefit of its members and the broader community.

Tagum Cooperative continues to set the standard for leadership excellence in the cooperative sector—one step, one metric, and one bond at a time.
