With the onset of class opening in October, cooperatives within the City of Tagum has joined forces to launch its “Tabang sa Eskwela gikan sa Kooperatiba”. This is a project of the City Cooperative Development Council (CCDC) of Tagum which aims
to gather donation from cooperatives which could aid the schools in the opening of classes.
Tagum Cooperative, together with other cooperatives in the city have distributed bond papers, alcohol and other supplies on September 28, 2020 as spearheaded by CCDC Chairperson Hon. Macario “Bong Bermudez II together with the Rev. Antonio
Alastra, Jr. – Tagum City Coop Development Officer.
Beneficiaries of the said generous donations were San Agustin Elementary School, Babangan Elementary School, Apokon Elementary School, Bincungan Elementary School, and Cabugan Elementary School.
Tagum Cooperative sourced out its donations from the Community Development Fund (CDF) which has a mandatory allocation coming from the annual net surplus.
This collaboration among the city cooperatives exemplifies the 6th Cooperative Principle: Cooperation among Cooperatives with the 7th Cooperative Principle: Concern for the Community.
