Third time in a row – Tagum Cooperative renews A-one Competitive Choice for Excellence in Service and Soundness (ACCESS) Silver Accreditation during the Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU) Forum held on September 19 – 21, 2017 at Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Tagum Coop Officials led by Chairperson Fe J. Adlawan and Chief Executive Officer Juris D. Perez joined co-Filipinos and other 350 delegates from the different Asian Countries. The ACCESS award is given to cooperatives that showed perseverance and commitment in complying and completing the stringent international standards from the Financial, Customer-Member, Internal Business Processes and Learning and Growth perspectives.

Chairperson Adlawan and CEO Perez were invited as panelists for the break-out sessions with topics on Sustainable Financing the Credit Union Network’s Structure and Standardization of Policies and Products to Guarantee the Delivery of Quality Services to Members, respectively. These topics tackled the importance of network integration and standardization of coop policies to achieve a greater probability of offering services to more people and achieving better financial performance and greater stability.

“Adherence to good governance and prudential financial standard are part of Tagum Cooperative’s best practices that we bring with us wherever we go,” says Chairperson Fe J. Adlawan. CEO Perez proclaimed that receiving the prestigious award has given her confidence that members are assured of the cooperative’s sustainability for the next fifty years. Perez thanked the TC Officers for their good governance, being visionaries, determined and innovative which enables the Management to be committed and dedicated to perform based on the strategic goals being set by the Board of Directors. Most importantly, Tagum Cooperative members are loyal, well-informed and responsible.

TC Board of Directors and the Management are now eyeing the ACCESS Gold Accreditation for the next years with the great challenge of achieving the 5% and below delinquency rate. Rest assured that products and services will be constantly innovated to suit member’s need and likewise strengthen the Internal Control policies.

ACCU thru the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO) conducted the Renewal Audit on July 18 – 21, 2017 headed by Ms. Daisybelle M. Cabal, CPA. Tagum Coop receives 287 points rating which qualifies for the ACCESS Silver – ACCESS.
