School-aged children are also encouraged to save a portion of their baon,” with the perception that a million pesos starts with one single piso.

As a steward in the financial literacy advocacy, Tagum Cooperative gives annual recognition to the outstanding schools, teachers, and young savers who are keen in touching lives and inspiring others to become financially literate. This recognition is dubbed as Financial Literacy Search and was staged on August 22, 2020 at the Function Hall of Tagum Cooperative Main Office.

Awarding categories include: Best School Financial Literacy Implementer, Best Teacher and Coordinator Financial Literacy Implementer and Best Financial Literacy Young Leader Award. Winners are as follows: Best Financial Literacy Teacher Implementer Category A Ms. Maria Elena Laranjo of Matina Aplaya Elementary School, Category B. Ms. Ruth Vada Jo I. Tamayo, Mankilam Elementary School Best financial Literacy Coordinator Implementer Category A: Ms. Jonalyn L. Pasquito, Magugpo Pilot Central Elementary School Category B Ms. Marilyn V. Balaud, Luna Elementary School- Best School Financial Literacy Implementer Category A: Magugpo Pilot Central Elementary School and Category B Mankilam Elementary School- Best Financial Literacy Young Leader Awardee first: Xyrah Faith Plaza- Sto. Nino Elementary School 2nd Mjel Kezhia L. Barrieta- Magugpo Pilot Central Elementary school 3rd Mariah Joyce Resma- Cabidianan Elementary School.

TC Youth Laboratory Coop was established in 2010 under the guardianship of Tagum Cooperative. Youth Lab Coop members have not only learned financial literacy but has soared high in their scholastic performances. Recently, two Tagumenos who used to be TCYLC members have now become full-pledged doctors – Anlorenze Mae Baura Conde and Oliver Daniles Perez, III. Both doctors have attributed part of their successes to Tagum Cooperative being the pioneering Officials of the Youth Lab Coop.
