Cooperative success and excellence require utmost commitment and diligence from its officials, members and employees. This holds true for Tagum Cooperative, a homegrown multi-billion and multi-awarded enterprise, as it welcomes the 53rd year of service to members and the community.
One of the best practices of the cooperative and a key factor for sustained growth, is the ability to craft realistic long-term plans with specified and diverse strategies. The previous 2015-2020 Strategic Plan has projected a massive Php 5.4 billion asset by year 2020 but an astounding Php 6.58 billion mark was achieved by the end of 2018 alone. Further, the enormous Php 7 billion in terms of asset was actualized in the first quarter of 2019.
It was also envisioned that 20 branches will be established by 2020 but 18 business centers are already strategically placed in the different regions in Mindanao at present. Management proclaims that the remaining 2 business centers will be opened within the year in Kipadawan City and Island Garden City of Samal.
The early attainment of financial and expansion targets prove that Tagum Cooperative can go beyond expectations with the unparalleled volunteerism of Officers, the efforts and sacrifices of workforce and continued patronage of products and services from the members.
Thus, Tagum Cooperative Board of Directors and Management commenced with the Strategic Planning Sessions for 2020-2025 in August of 2019, following the bottoms-up approach with Mr. Edwin D. dela Cerna as consultant. Each business line and department are actively involved in the preparation of High Impact Plans and Programs anchored on the SWOT Analysis output and specialized mandates being set forth.
“Tagum Cooperative has prospered for half a decade thru wise decision making. These Strategic Planning sessions will help us to look into our future endeavors with highest regard to member’s satisfaction,” states Chief Executive Officer Juris D. Perez. The strategic planning sessions will culminate in November of 2019 and be immediately put into action by year 2020.
