Tagum Cooperative achieves new heights as four hundred eighty-seven (487) District Representatives (DRs), from the different provinces of Davao Region, gather to celebrate the 2nd Annual Representative Assembly and 52nd Annual Assembly.

This year’s theme, “Tagum Cooperative: Exploring Opportunities and Exploring Innovations to Create a Better Future” emphasizes on how challenges are turned into opportunities for growth and business expansions through the exploration of possibilities in accordance with current realities.

Registration of attendees commenced at 10 o’clock in the morning followed with the Eucharistic Mass with Most Rev. Bishop Medel S. Aseo, D.D. as the main celebrant. A grandiose opening salvo was given by the well-renowned KA-TRIBU, the Kapalong National High School Dance Theater Guild. History was made with the grand entrance of the Lead District Representatives and Branch Managers with their respective branch managers. Directors and VIPs then marched to the rhythm as the District Representatives cheered and applauded Keynote Speaker Hon. Sabiniano Canama, Coop NATCCO Partylist Representative, congratulated Tagum Cooperative for reaching 52 years of service excellence and inspiring members to be responsible members of the society. He further requested the members to once again show its support Coop NATCCO Partylist, the official partylist of all cooperatives in the country.

Chairperson Eduard C. Amoguis, Ed.D. gave his heartfelt speech during the program reiterating the value of embracing opportunity and exploring innovations despite being already celebrated locally, nationally and internationally. “In order to further our reach and offer the best quality of service to our beloved cooperators, let us not hesitate to expand our horizon and embrace the value of research and business development to tread waters and exploring new vistas in order to reach new heights” the Chairperson adds.

Afterwards, Chief Executive Officer Juris D. Perez proudly presented the Financial Highlights for Cooperative Year 2018 wherein TC’s assets increased by a stunningly high 23% from P5.35 Billion in 2017 to P6.58Billion in 2018. She also presented TC’s different services including TC Pay wherein the members who will not be able to pay their obligations will be able to visit the different bayad-centers to their convenience. Youth Laboratory, Funecare and the 12 TC branches and 5 satellite offices (a total of 17 business centers) were also included in the impressive report among others.

Prestigious awards and recognitions were also given to members who continue to patronize the products and services; officers who have whole-heartedly dedicated their time and talents; and employees who serves as role models and service awardees.

The Business Proper commenced at 3 o’clock in the afternoon wherein the following reports were rendered: BOD & Management, Audit Committee, Election Committee, Conciliation-Mediation Committee, Ethics Committee, Education Committee, Gender Equality Committee and Youth Development & Succession Program Committee, for the approval of the Assembly.

Discussion highlighted on the proposals jointly submitted by the Management and Coop Officials including the conversion of TC-Malita Satellite Office into a branch with additional capitalization requirements; establishment of additional branches/satellite offices in Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte and Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental; adjustment in the contribution for Coop NATCCO Partylist and other amendments to the existing Articles of Cooperation and Bylaws.

CEO Perez then announced the most anticipated release of Patronage Refund (12.84%) and Interest on Share Capital (12.53%) on April 9, 2019 (Tuesday). The said PRIS will be deposited in the ATM / savings account of members and be made available for viewing via Tagum Coop mobile application. P 100,000 worth of raffle prizes were also given to 200 winners chosen via electronic draw.

The district representatives are wearing the official coop integration shirt in color blue, as a sign of unity among cooperators and stability of the cooperative movement in the entire country.
