Tagum Cooperative has yet again shown to the world that it truly is in the ranks of cooperative excellence as it conducted its 50th Annual General Assembly. The assembly which marked another milestone for the world-class cooperative was profoundly supported and attended by the general membership. The two-part assembly was witnessed at Pedro B. San Jose Gymnasium at UM Tagum College, Tagum City on March 18, 2017 and SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premiere, Davao City on March 25, 2017. The theme “Golden Era of Success and Excellence” befitted the event as it exemplifies the coop’s numerous accolades and sky-rocketing financial and social achievements.
The amicable conduct of business proper is duly credited to the democratic nature of the general membership and the straightforward responses and helpful recommendations given by officers led by then Chairperson Monica L. Salido, MM.
Pedro B. San Jose Gymnasium and SMX Convention Center both turned golden and bedazzled during the program proper. Employees turned the assembly as they paraded wine and ceremonial cakes. It was then followed by the introduction of the coop’s back-to-back breakthrough. The TC Mobile App was launched. This android application lets members to check their balances and deposits efficiently through their mobile phones thus putting “Tagum Coop in their hands”. “Cincuenta: A Passion for Success, Sustainability, and Development,” Tagum Coop’s 50th Anniversary Commemorative Coffee Table Book was also publicized. This book mirrors the Coop’s humble beginnings, pivotal struggles, instrumental transformation, and viable sustainable development. Adding color to the assembly also was the awarding ceremony which hailed and lauded outstanding members and employees which made Tagum Cooperative dependable and reputable for 50 strong years. Members and employees alike went on stage smiling from ear to ear to receive special plaque of recognition which were given by the Board of Directors and the management team.
The general membership applauded during the reporting of the financial highlights from which they know that the total asset of the Coop is already Php 4.5B. The reporting of financial highlights was done by Tagum Coop’s ever dynamic and supportive Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Juris D. Perez, CPA, MBA. But the members were more hyped up as Ms. Salido declared the percentage for the Patronage Refund and Interest Rate.
Furthermore, the revelation of the Election Results put the adrenaline of the crowd into a higher level. Declared triumphant candidates were: (Board of Directors) Ms. Nenita R. Malbas, CPA, MBA, Ms. Evelia R. Sator, Ed. D, Ms. Rosalina S. Argent, MBA, and Ms. Janet T. Matuguinas, CPA, MBA, (Election Committee) Mr. Ruel Dagsangan, (Audit Committee) Ms. Gertrudes L. Yap, CPA, MBA and Ms. Rosamaria S. Torrejano, CPA, MBA.
The 50th Annual General Assembly was concluded successfully because of the collective efforts of all the committee, partners, affiliates, and the general membership as a whole. All the participants exited carrying the fervor that Tagum Cooperative will transcend from its golden era and promise that the coop will be better for the years to come. (xxx)
