What is Aflatoun?

Is an educational program of balanced social and financial education for children: Social Responsibilities and financial literacy are brought into sphere of formal education

Child Social & Financial Education

Involve two keys courses of learning:

An Understanding of rights and responsibilities that enables children to develop in their communities.
Financial knowledge and skills that enable individuals to make the best use of available resources.

Furthermore, the program provides children access to child friendly savings account through a school-wide savings program, manage by Tagum Cooperative. This is our network’s way in mainstreaming financial literacy to the youth sector.

The Aflatoun concept is comprised of Five Core Elements which help children become positive change makers in their schools and communities:

1. Personal understanding and exploration
2. Rights and Responsibilities
3. Savings and Spending
4. Planning and Budgeting
5. Child Enterprise
