Various cooperative members in the Philippines convened on April 25-26, 2024, at the pristine Marriott Hotel Newport, Pasay City, to reap the dividends of cooperation during the 52nd General Assembly of the CLIMBS Life and General Insurance Cooperative.
The gathering was a platform to celebrate and discuss fruitful outcomes of collective hardwork, including critical decisions and achievements, with its thematic core message “A Climate Insurance Year 1: Let’s Connect, Lead, Insure, Motivate, Build and Sustain”.
The CLIMBS Life and General Insurance Cooperative is a micro-insurance provider duly recognized by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) and Insurance Commission (IC). Its ultimate goal is to provide insurance protection to the grassroots areas of the Philippines while integrating cooperative principles.
Tagum Cooperative (TC) has long recognized its commitment to propagating cooperative education and thus entailed membership to federations and insurance providers to address the increasing demand of the general membership. Part of this year’s assembly is the highlight participation of Tagum Cooperative receiving various awards of excellence.
Overall, Tagum Cooperative proudly bagged a total of seven (7) plaques of awards, namely the CAC Achievers Award, Increase in Premium, 10M Up (Life) Increase in Premium, 5M Up (Non-Life), Top Premium Producer, Top 5 Investor, Top 10 Premium Producer (Life), and Top 10 Premium Producer (Non-Life).
Moreover, the two-day assembly also encapsulated plenary sessions delving into several relevant matters essential to maintaining a cooperative presence in the community. One of which is the exploration of “Building Climate Resilience Through Cooperative Action” first unfastened by the Principal of Cooperative College of the Philippines and CLIMBS Vice President for Admin and Corporate Planning, Ms. Donna C. Dizon.
The tackling recognized cooperative institutions as integral actors in executing climate action. It has been said that cooperative institutions are responsible for climate change and that incorporating such action into business implementation takes a ripple effect to significant forms.
Additionally, the hype progressed as the TC Vice Chairperson of the Board Dir. Gertrudes L. Yap victoriously took a seat on the board of directors officership. Indeed, Tagum Cooperative is a home of excellence in many ways. From customer satisfaction to products and services offered to good governance and management, everything in between is nothing short of superb distinction and quality. Kenneth M. Tayogandaga
