The National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO) has announced an exciting search for the first-ever NATCCO Ambassadors of Excellence, Sustainability, and Change, marking a significant milestone as it holds its 46th General Assembly last May 5-7, 2023, the first face-to-face gathering since the pandemic in the renowned “City of Smiles”, Bacolod City.
Under the theme “Seizing New Frontiers in an Integrated Network towards Resiliency and Sustainability,” this year’s assembly aims to explore innovative approaches and create new pathways in the cooperative movement. NATCCO believes that cooperatives, as social and financial enterprises, play a crucial role in building resilience and achieving sustainability for individuals and communities.
The distinguished panel of judges for the search consisted of Atty. Sally Cabangis, NATCCO Chairperson Romulo Caceres, and ACCU Thailand CEO Leni San Roque. The search provides cooperative members with an opportunity to showcase their achievements, leadership skills, and dedication to positively impacting their communities.
Representing the Tagum Cooperative, Kenneth Tayogandaga from Communication, Education and Community Development (CECD) and Cheska Jumao-as from Member Benefit and Assistance (MBA), have emerged as exceptional ambassadors in their respective categories.
Mr. Tayogandaga bagged the first prize as NATCCO’s First Ambassador of Excellence 2023, winning a free registration to ACCU DE (Thailand) and ACCU Forum (Nepal). Featuring his outstanding singing performance and captivating video presentation, Mr. Tayogandaga also won the Best in Talent and Best Co-op Video Showcase awards.
Ms. Jumao-as has showcased her remarkable efforts in driving positive change through her career in Tagum Cooperative and within her community. In recognition of her outstanding achievements, she has been granted a prize of P6,000 as the recipient of the NATCCO’s First Ambassador of Sustainability 2023.
The NATCCO Ambassadors of Excellence, Sustainability, and Change stand as beacons of inspiration, embodying the spirit of cooperative values and innovation. Together, NATCCO and its ambassadors are paving the way for a brighter future, where cooperatives thrive as pillars of strength and catalysts for positive change.
