CEO Juris D. Perez and Chairperson Nenita R. Malbas did not miss to attend the most significant gathering of the 7th National Sharing of Best Practices on March 20-21, 2024, at the Luxent Hotel, 51 Timog Ave, Diliman, Quezon City.
It can be noted that Tagum Cooperative frequently hosts Lakbay Aral from various cooperative institutions across the country. This Lakbay Aral program aims to exchange knowledge and best practices to improve cooperative institutions in general.
For the past year, Tagum Cooperative has been back hosting Lakbay Aral after the long havoc of the pandemic, lifting of restrictions, and some time approval of the Board of Directors to execute the said program fully.
A total of nine (9) cooperative institutions were recorded and successfully hosted last 2023, and two (2) respectively so far this quarter.
This year, in the full implementation of the National Confederation of Cooperatives, the sharing of best practices was realized with special participation of cooperatives from across the nation with its captivating theme “Cooperative identity paving the road to integration”.
Meanwhile, CEO Perez shared the significance of having an ACCESS brand to cooperative institutions. She emphasized the cooperative identity in connection to the prudential standards set internationally could significantly impact the cooperative image as a whole and otherwise.
The convergence of various cooperatives brought the event with series of plenary discussions and presentations. Among those presentations were about state of the NATCCO address, understanding financial benchmarks, stabilization fund system, business development services, cooperative identity, marketing strategies, and financial wellness.The presence of CEO Perez and Chaiperson Malbas to the event has brought them new strategic knowledge that are beneficial to Tagum Cooperative. This newfound knowledge is crucial to maintaining and sustaining business processes as well the essence of cooperative identity to achieve integration among credit unions. Kenneth M. Tayogandaga
