The 25th day of March marks the International Aflatoun Day where we celebrated the possibility of a sustainable future through financial education and youth empowerment. Children all over the globe were linked through skype calls with smiles and laughter filling the air.
In Tagum Cooperative, a room full of energetic and enthusiastic Aflatoun members got together to share their talents through passionate singing and dancing. Contest for poster making serves as avenue for exploring creativity among the youth.
Team building activities were also done to encourage
team work and innovativeness in performing various tasks and overcoming obstacles. The iconic Aflatoun mascot was present during the event and inspired the youth to keep the fire burning for cooperativism.
Aflatoun partners present were from the Department of Education – Tagum City Division: Magugpo Pilot Central Elementary School, Don Ricardo Briz Central Elementary School, Laureta Elementary School, Florentino Catalan Elementary School, and La Filipina Elementary School.
The Aflatoun Program is implemented in Tagum Cooperative through the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO).
